What is The Supernova Documentary About?

Several broadcasters have picked the Supernova documentary from around the world. The documentary is about Hamas terrorists targeting a music festival. The incidents happened in southern Israel during their deadly October 7 onslaught.

Supernova: The Music Festival Massacre was picked up by BBC World Service, ZDF in Germany, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark, RAI in Italy, VRT in Belgium, Canal+ Group’s CNews in France, Record TV in Brazil, and a major broadcaster in the United Kingdom.

What is the Supernova Documentary About?

It took less than two months for the Israeli filmmaker Dan Pe’er to create an intensely raw and painful 52-minute documentary about the October 7 attack. Moreover, he named it Supernova: The Music Festival Massacre.

The film was made for Israel’s Yes Studios. The filmmaker used videos filmed by some of the 3,000-plus party-goers as well as by the Hamas terrorists intent on killing them.

Moreover, it is a deep, disturbing dive into the chaotic, terrifying hours of the assault. Furthermore, it highlights the details of the incidents in which 360 people were killed and dozens more assaulted and taken hostage in Gaza.

Dan says that he wants it to be seen by everyone over 18 in the world. The documentary filmmaker and docu-reality TV director call this a movie that shows the holocaust that happened there.

How was the Entire Experience of Filming?

Pe’er said that it was an arduous task for him. He conceived of the film during his volunteer work during the first two weeks of the war. Pe’er downloaded photos and videos from social media. He did this to create profiles of each missing person and identify them. There were thousands of people missing.

The government was not functioning, and there was a huge amount of chaos. The filmmaker glued to the Telegram app for the first hours of October 7. He obtained the details of the attack in this app. From morning until night, the sole job was to create a profile video or picture of each person.

All this created the way towards the documentary movie that is being released. In less than two months of the attack, this anticipated release is going to be a major thing. It is going to be a landmark in history. The documentary is also produced by Reinhardt Beetz. It is co-directed by award-winning filmmaker Yossi Bloch.

When is the Documentary Set to Release?

The anticipated Supernova Documentary was set to premiere on KAN in Israel on December 23. London-based TVF International will be handling worldwide sales going forward. It is closing deals with further broadcast partners.

Reinhardt Beetz and Duki Dror produced the documentary. He also co-directed with award-winning filmmaker Yossi Bloch. The team behind the film includes executive producer Danna Stern and Satisfaction Group’s Arthur Essebag.

Pe’er wanted to honour the memories of those killed and their families. He wanted to do so while still showing the threatening tone of that day. The audience is placed in the party and feels the fear and sense of doom as the partygoers run for their lives.
