The Heavenly Relationship

John Travolta and Kelly Preston crossed paths during a screen test for their 1989 comedy, The Experts, while Preston was still married to actor Kevin Gage. Once Preston was single again, Travolta swooped in to sweep her off her feet.

On New Year’s Eve 1991, Travolta got down on one knee inside the Palace Hotel restaurant in Gstaad, Switzerland, and proposed with a six-carat yellow-and-white diamond ring.

After marrying her SpaceCamp co-star Gage in 1985, Preston and Gage separated after just two years. Following this, Preston briefly lived with George Clooney until their split in 1989.
